Hi, my name is Alyssa! I truly believe you can create a healthy, simple, and welcoming home no matter where home is.
A passion for the home has been in my bones since I was a little girl. However, it wasn’t until I was 31 and had an 8-month-old baby that my husband and I moved into our first house.

I have lived in apartments, condos and duplexes throughout my adult life. I have always felt the importance of making wherever I was planted feel like a home even if my name wasn’t on the mortgage. As they always say “home is where your heart is.”
So, whether you are living in an apartment, or have been living in a house for 5+ years, join me as I share with you tips for making a healthy, simple, and welcoming home.
Tidbits about me:
I love city life and country living. I feel truly at home in both atmospheres.
Cooking good food and sharing it with those I love fills my homemaker heart.
I have a love for antiques, old things and movies. When they all collide in one I am in my happy place.
I have PCOS (polycystic ovarian syndrome) which has led to the discovery that gluten and dairy-free living is not a death sentence. You can still have delicious foods when made from scratch in your own kitchen.
My first degree in college was interior design, but then I switched to psychology. It was the right move for me. But I now get my creative outlet by constantly decorating and making plans for our 1890’s farmhouse.
We are now the proud owners of backyard chickens! They came with the house we purchased and we love every day with our new pets!
