Making real mousse would be quite a feat to! It requires melting chocolate, whipping cream and eggs, and heating and cooling, etc.
For the average cook or entertainer that wants a fancy and uncomplicated dessert, this is a great one!

Recipe
1 box of instant pudding
2 cups heavy whipping cream.
Different flavors
Basically any flavor you can find in an instant pudding, you can make into a mousse! I have tried Chocolate and pistachio. I also plan to make banana cream mousse, and raspberry mousse!
Decadent and creamy!
There are times when I am making an Italian dinner, or want something creamy and chocolaty for a dessert, but don’t want something as sweet as chocolate cake or ice cream. A chocolate mousse, it is a great addition to the end of a nice meal.
It is creamy and decadent, and surprisingly satisfying.

Pistachio mousse makes a fun St. Patrick’s Day Dessert!
If you have kids or are entertaining on St. Patrick’s day, this is a fun and easy green dessert to make!

How to make it
- Measure out 2 cups of heavy whipping cream and pour into a large mixing bowl.
- Then dump in the packet of instant pudding mix.
- Take a hand mixer (or you could whip this up in a standing mixer too), and mix/whip on high until a whipped cream or mousse texture starts to form. About 3 minutes.
To pipe into a dish for a pretty display, take a frosting pipping bag and fill it with the mousse. Then pipe a continuous line making layers of mousse in the dish until it is filled.

**If you need an easy way to think of it, pipe the mouse into the dish like you would pipe the top of a cupcake. Making a spiral and building one layer on top of the next until it is the desired height.

How to store it.
You can store the mousse in the dish you are serving it in in the fridge for about an hour before you serve it. If you are storing it any longer than that, and it’s not in an air tight container the top layer of the mousse might harden a bit.
If you are storing it in an air tight container until you want to use it, then you can keep it in the fridge for up to two days.
However, this is a great dessert to whip up even while your guests are here as they are enjoy conversation before dessert and coffee. It takes only 3 minutes to whip up and about 5 minutes to pipe into a dish serve. You can even make it while the coffee is brewing!
